Bailey’s Love Tips: Unique Date Ideas for Valentine’s Day

We are back with more “Bailey’s Love Tips”. If you missed our last post, 10 New Year’s Resolutions for Couples, be sure to check it out here.

This month we are excited to celebrate the sweet smell of roses and chocolates in the air accompanying the season of our favorite feeling… Love! We know how important it is to spice up your relationship and you might be doing that this holiday by shooting for a unique date plan. We have asked around and come up with some Raleigh date ideas that may provide more romance than just dinner and roses.

Take a Wine and Chocolate Class

You can skip dinner and jump straight into dessert for a nice, romantic, fun date learning with your significant other! Our first Valentine’s date idea is taking a wine and chocolate class with your partner.  It’s a great experience and what better time to do it than around Valentine’s Day. The Wine Feed hosts a class at their Raleigh and Durham stores teaching beginners how to pair wine and chocolate to make a delicious dessert.

Head to the Arcade

Embrace all the fun of young love once again at Boxcar for a classic arcade experience with a bar. It’s all of the benefits of being a kid without having to be home in time for dinner. You can hold your loved one close while mashing buttons on your way to victory.

Visit a chocolate factory

Another chocolate related idea; at least we’re not being cheesy. A walk through of a chocolate factory makes for a great adventure for two. The Videri Chocolate Factory is located right downtown next to the Raleigh Union Station and makes for a perfect Valentine’s Day date without copying the same recipe from years before. The factory is also home to Stumptown Coffee Bar with a seated patio under lights. After your tour, feel free to waft the smell of fresh chocolate and coffee while chatting by the bar.

Watch a Movie in a Vintage Theater

Movies are a classic date idea but what makes this unique is the Rialto in Raleigh. Embrace the nostalgia of an old theater and catch a movie with your sweetheart maybe after a walk downtown or a bite to eat in Five Points.

Listen to Love

Many coffee shops in North Carolina have open-mics and on the day of love, you can take your sweetie to enjoy some local spoken word or even some new love songs. If you feel up for it you may even find yourself reading to your loved one and professing your love in front of the whole cafe.

Stroll Through Lafayette Village

A romantic scene can be found on every corner at Lafayette Village in Raleigh under the string lights and French flags. Grab a bite, get some coffee or do some shopping all while surrounded by beautiful architecture and music. The French really know how to do romance.

Horseback Riding Anyone?

Put on your jeans and grab some boots, we are going trailblazing! The outdoors and adventure may not make you think of Valentine’s Day romance but you will find it at Happy Trails Farm. The property is filled with beautiful acres covered in trees and trails that make for a great day with your significant other. They offer trips for beginners and those more experienced so there is something for every couple.

Dance the Night Away

In the mood to dress up but don’t know where to go? The Annual Valentine’s Dinner Dance and Show provides the perfect opportunity to look snazzy and dance with your love. Go for the live music and leave with memories and photos to look at for years to come.

Couples Who Run Together Stay Together

Need somewhere to take your sole mate? Spend the day running at the Sole Mates Valentines 5K & 10K. Pick a race, run with your love or take different courses and add up your times at the end! A perfect way to keep up a New Year’s Resolution or just doing what you love with who you love.

No matter what you do, make sure it’s thoughtful and something your loved one will enjoy. We wish you the best Valentine’s Day and have fun planning a great, unique date for Valentine’s!
