Southern Fashion Trends: Boots and Booties!

The top half of our body gets all the love: Hats, infinity scarves, and quilted jackets- just to name a few. Show some attention to your feet, it’s about time they stepped into style this fall.

Boots: A fall staple. Leather comes in lots of neutral hues, which goes with every kind of color and style. Boots can be accompanied with bare legs or tights for those chilly days. They also go over jeans and leggings for a more casual look. Boots that come up over the knee look nice when paired with a dress or skirt. Flat boots, or riding boots, give an equestrian feel to an outfit. Pair them with dark-washed jeans and a quilted jacket to give your style more of an “outdoorsy” feel.

TOMS ShoesBooties: Similar to the boot, but most don’t go any higher than your ankle. Booties with heel are a great addition to your work wardrobe. The heel will add height to your dress pants or pencil skirt. Light-colored suede booties with a wedge can be taken “out on the town” with a long sleeved romper or shift dress. You can find the booties in the picture at Bevello in Cameron Village.

Printed Flats and Loafers: Use your shoes to create bright and colorful patterns. For example, Cheetah print loafers look cheerful with a solid colored ensemble. If you usually stick to a few colors in your outfit, wear shoes that add a littlWomen's Loaferse something extra. This way, you can express your style without looking unorganized. Flats that have a pointed toe add a hint of sophistication and professionalism when worn with business attire, while rounded toe flats look great with skinny jeans. You can find these black loafers at Fab’rik in Cameron Village.

Get yourself noticed and express yourself! Style, simply put, is what YOU love to wear. Use these guidelines to make it a great fashion season!
