NC the Beautiful: The Mountains

North Carolina is such a beautiful state.  With the majestic mountains on one end and the calming coast on the other, there’s always somewhere
to visit.  As the leaves turn from green to bright hues of reds, oranges and yellows, make some time to revel in the beauty  that is our state.

Whether you call NC home, or you’re just stopping by, there are plenty of things to do if you’re looking for a fun time. Although Bailey’s calls central and eastern North Carolina “home” we love the gorgeous western part of the state as well!

Head to the western part of the state to find a mountain to hike or take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Grandfather Mountain is one of the highest peaks in the Blue Ridge Mountains at an elevation of 5,946 feet.  With 12 miles of hiking trails that range in difficulty, everyone has a chance to soak in a breathtaking view.

The Blue Ridge Parkway winds its way through North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. In North Carolina, there are plenty of places to stop and take in Mother Nature. Many of these stops also offer lodging, restaurants, hiking trails and more.

If you find yourself in Asheville, head over to the gorgeous Biltmore Estate.  Sitting on 8,000 acres, it is known as America’s largest home.  Explore the intricate gardens and take a tour through the stunning mansion.  This trip has something for everyone in the family.
