Some of our amazing First Responders receiving their awards!

We’re showing our appreciation for those who protect the communities Bailey’s serves through the second annual First Responder Hero Awards. Bailey’s is recognizing North Carolina heroes in the fire, law enforcement and emergency medical fields in the Raleigh, Rocky Mount and Greenville communities.

The winners from Raleigh are Ken Cotton, who has been a firefighter since the age of 14 and has been with the Sanford Fire Department for 30 years; Andy Dudash, who serves as Captain of the Youngsville Fire Department and Volunteer Assistant Chief for the Durham Highway Fire Department; and Mark Brodd, a local police officer who recently rescued a woman from a burning car.

The winners from Rocky Mount are Russell Ward, a detective with the Wilson Police Department; Moises Cartagena, a former Marine who was deployed four times and currently works with the Wilson County Sherriff’s Office; Chris Clagg, a first responder for Nash County and volunteer firefighter for the Green Hornet Station in Bailey; Officer Jones, a retired law enforcement officer who lead his Police Department Explorer Group for seven years; and Misti Strickland, a Nash County Sheriff who has spent time working as a patrolman, detective, undercover officer and school resource officer.

Lastly, the winner from Greenville is Ben Parish, who has served in law enforcement for 23 years. Parish works for the Duplin County Sherriff’s Department and is also a volunteer firefighter. He was nominated by his wife who admired her husband’s strength through difficult times as a husband and a father, while continuing to give his all to the Greenville community through his work.

“Bailey’s is a North Carolina born-and-bred company and the communities we serve are extremely important to us,” said Trey Bailey of Bailey’s Fine Jewelry. “There are so many amazing first responders that provide us with the safety, security and service so many of us often take for granted. These Raleigh-area First Responders are the perfect example of that and we’re honored to be able to recognize them for the work they do each and every day.”

The  winners each receive a medal and a $200 gift card to Bailey’s. Thank you to our winners, and all First Responders, for everything you do to keep us safe. We can’t thank you enough!
