Bailey’s Custom Design Teams Creates Swan Lake Necklace for Carolina Ballet
By Lindsay Priester on March 31st, 2019
We pride ourselves on a lot of things at Bailey’s, but two of them are our custom design team and our support of the arts in the communities we serve. When both of these passions come together for a project, we’re thrilled!
Bailey’s Fine Jewelry recently partnered with Carolina Ballet to create a custom designed necklace inspired by the Ballet’s upcoming production of Swan Lake. The necklace was designed and hand crafted in Bailey’s workshop by custom designer Rich Nobrega and will be worn by a Carolina Ballet principal dancer at each Swan Lake performance, May 16-19 at the Raleigh Memorial Auditorium.
Carolina Ballet will sell $25 raffle tickets that give participants a chance to win the one-of-a-kind necklace. All raffle proceeds will benefit Carolina Ballet’s Creative Capital Fund, which helps the Ballet continue to expand their repertoire with new works, re-stage the classics with rich costumes and scenery and increase the number of programs featuring live music. Raffle tickets will be available online at carolinaballet.com from March 29 until May 29 here.
“The first time I met Trey Bailey (of Bailey’s Fine Jewelry), I already knew that his family business has been generously supporting local non-profits and local art organizations for years,” said Adam Schiffer, development manager of Carolina Ballet. “With my 20 plus years of dancing experience, I like to have a creative outlook on fundraising and I presented Trey with the idea of a custom-made necklace to be worn during a performance. Numerous planning meetings with Carolina Ballet’s creative team, and Bailey’s award-winning designer, Rich, resulted in an outstanding diamond necklace, that will enhance our production and will be visible to thousands of people in person.”
The necklace is made in 18 karat gold with 1.3 carats of pave diamonds and features black diamond and ruby accents. The retail value of the necklace is $6,675.
“We’re so fortunate to live and work in an area with such a vibrant and evolving arts scene,” said Trey Bailey. “Supporting the arts is extremely important to us as both a business and a family. Rich and our custom design team are so incredibly talented, so making a custom piece to support the Ballet’s creative endeavors was the perfect fit for both of us.”
Be sure to market your calendars for May 16-19 to see Carolina Ballet’s amazing production of Swan Lake! See you there!
