Gingerbread House Competition
Have you honed in on your baking skills this year? Looking to share your sweet creativity and win an even sweeter prize? You’re in luck! Bailey’s Fine Jewelry is elated to announce its annual gingerbread house competition!
Join in on the fun for your chance to win! There will be 24 total prizes awarded – 2 grand prizes and 22 finalist prizes! Professional and amateur bakers alike, we’re excited to see your creations!
This year, we’ll have two categories – Family Fun and Expert!
How it works:
Step 1: Bake & Decorate!
Make an amazing gingerbread creation. Must include a Bailey’s themed element! Have fun with it!
Step 2: Paperwork
(It’s quick we promise!)
Fill out the entry and release forms. Make sure to circle which Bailey’s location you are entering! Submit your forms and photos of your creation by midnight on December 5th.
Step 3: Finalists Announced
On December 8th, three entries from each category for market location (Raleigh, Cary, Rocky Mount, and Greenville) will be selected as finalists! To progress to the final, company-wide round finalists must drop off their creations at their designated Bailey’s location by December 10th.
Step 4: The Final Round!
A first, second, and third-place winner will be announced from both categories of the entries that progressed to the final round on December 15th.
Step 5: Celebrate!!!
Expert Category:
· Grand Prize Winner will receive: $2,500 Bailey’s Gift Card
· Second Place Winner will receive: $500 Bailey’s Gift Card
· Third Place Winner will receive: $250 Bailey’s Gift Card
· Each finalist (who did not place) will receive: $50 Bailey’s Gift Card
Family Category:
· Grand Prize Winner will receive: $1,000 Bailey’s Gift Card
· Second Place Winner will receive: $250 Bailey’s Gift Card
· Third Place Winner will receive: $100 Bailey’s Gift Card
· Each finalist (who did not place) will receive: $25 Bailey’s Gift Card
Competition details, guidelines, and entry forms are below.
Detailed Entry Criteria
All entries will be judged on five criteria: 1) Overall Appearance, 2) Originality and Creativity, 3)
Difficulty, 4) Precision and 5) Consistency of Theme. There is no overall theme for the
competition, but Bailey’s has one artistic requirement. A Bailey’s themed element must be
included in the design. 6) One entry per person/group.
Size Limitations:
Entry must be placed on a board base. Entries combined with a base must not be larger than
24 inches high, 24 inches wide, and 24 inches long. ½” or ¾” plywood as a base for your entry
is recommended. Weight is not to exceed 50 pounds.
Materials and Construction:
Everything above the base of your entry must be composed completely of edible materials.
Event Timeline
- Entries must be submitted by midnight on December 5th.
- Top 3 Entries per category for each market (Raleigh, Cary, Greenville, Rocky Mount) will be announced on December 8th.
- These entries will be judged by the videos and photos submitted.
- Finalists will be contacted via email/phone
- Finalists will be shared via Bailey’s social media
- Finalists to drop off the house and printed paperwork at designated Bailey’s/market location
for display on December 10th- Rocky Mount Location Drop off: 117 Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount
- Greenville Location Drop off: 511 Red Banks Road, Greenville
- Raleigh Area Location Drop off: Village District, 415 Daniels Street, Raleigh NC
- Cary Location Drop off: 1 Fenton Main Street, Suite 110, Cary NC 27511
- The winner will be announced on December 15th.
- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for each category will be announced via Bailey’s social media and will
be contacted directly through email to arrange prize pick up. - All market entries will be combined into one judging pool.
- These entries will be judged in person by a special judging panel.

Prizes
*** There will only be 6 winners company-wide, 3 from each category, not 3 winners per market location. ***
(Market locations = Raleigh, Cary, Rocky Mount, and Greenville)
Expert Category:
· Grand Prize Winner will receive: $2,500 Bailey’s Gift Card
· Second Place Winner will receive: $500 Bailey’s Gift Card
· Third Place Winner will receive: $250 Bailey’s Gift Card
· Each finalist (who did not place) will receive: $50 Bailey’s Gift Card
Family Category:
· Grand Prize Winner will receive: $1,000 Bailey’s Gift Card
· Second Place Winner will receive: $250 Bailey’s Gift Card
· Third Place Winner will receive: $100 Bailey’s Gift Card
· Each finalist (who did not place) will receive: $25 Bailey’s Gift Card
If working in a team, only a single prize will be given and must be split between team members.
Prizes will be ready for pick up on December 17th at the winners’ designated locations.
