Hand-carved For Your
Alexis Bittar is the eponymous name of the jewelry brand founded by 2010 CFDA Accessory Designer of the Year, Alexis Bittar. Best known for hand-carved Lucite bangles, Bittar’s elegant, yet bold creations have been sought after since their discovery in 1992 by Dawn Mello, Bergdorf Goodman’s then Fashion Director.
Bittar bought his first block of Lucite in 1990 and holed up in his apartment figuring out how to hand carve it into the jewelry vision he had. Now over 25 years later, that original vision of hand crafted jewelry is a core pillar of the brand and reinforced by the company’s factory in Industry City, Brooklyn.
The care that goes into creating every necklace, bracelet, ring, and earring reflects the brand’s belief that the pieces are to be viewed as collectible, modern heirlooms that will stand the test of time and trends. While undeniably luxurious, with many designs featuring precious metals and semi-precious stones, the brand’s work is accessible, unique and attainable. Luxury in this case is in the design details, the quality of materials, and ultimately the way the pieces are cherished and worn.
