Our business is about our patrons and providing them with the perfect piece that will forever remind them of a certain moment in time. Whether it’s a graduation, Mother’s Day, birthday or anniversary, David Yurman’s exquisite designs are at the top of the list of those picked to celebrate those special Bailey Box Moments. David Yurman jewelry represents style and elegance and is perfect for women and men, young and old.

That’s why we’re so excited to announce that David Yurman himself will be making a personal appearance at our Cameron Village store Saturday, Oct. 21. This is a once-in-a-lifetime event and we can’t wait to share this experience with all of you.

A Little Background on David Yurman…

From a young age, David was passionate about art. At 15, he spent the summer in Provincetown, MA, a destination for bohemians and artists, where he learned the art of direct welding.  He continued sculpting and was an apprentice to renowned sculptor Jacques Lipchitz and eventually established his own sculpture studio in Greenwich Village.

David met his future wife, Sybil, in 1969 while working for sculptor Hans Van de Bovenkamp in New York City. He then went on to work with Theodore Roszak, a leading figure of the Post-World War II New York School of modern sculpture. Together, David and Sybil created their earliest collections under the name Putnam Art Works, selling “art to wear” at juried crafts fairs around the country. In 1979, on their wedding day, David and Sybil had a business meeting to potentially sell their company. After deciding not to sell, the David Yurman company was born and officially launched in 1980.

The Art of Design…

David and Sybil collaborate to create artistic and fashion forward jewelry. David Yurman’s first celebrated design was the Cable Bracelet. Introduced in 1983, it was an immediate icon, and to this day, remains one of the world’s most beloved jewelry designs with a distinguished design trademark. The first David Yurman boutique opened in 1999 on Madison Avenue in New York City. Today David Yurman is headquartered in New York City, with 47 David Yurman boutiques in North America and worldwide.

As a design atelier, David Yurman and a studio of master craftspeople are involved in every step of the creative process using the finest precious metals, rare gemstones and unconventional materials to make  jewelry of enduring quality and beauty.

It’s a true honor to have David Yurman, one of the most respected designers in the world, visit our Cameron Village store. We’ll be sharing more details soon, so stay tuned!
