Red Carpet Jewelry at the 2014 Oscars

The Oscars are always a beautiful event and this year certainly didn’t disappoint! Below, we list our favorite looks and the jewelry that caught our eye!

One of the biggest trends on the carpet this year was diamonds! While always a fixture, the diamonds this year seemed to shine a little brighter than in years past! Naomi Watts’s diamond Bulgari cage collar necklace. Set in platinum, this necklace seemed to set the tone for all the others to come! Jennifer Lawrence stunned in a beautiful red peplum Dior gown accentuated with a 100 carat diamond and crystal necklace she draped down her back, a look similar to her Oscars appearance last year.

One of the most striking and impressive jewelry pieces we saw this year were Cate Blanchett’s 33 carat opal earrings set in diamonds and 18 karat gold. These paired perfectly with her gorgeous embellished nude gown and, of course, her eventual Oscar win!

Another look we loved was Charlize Theron in a classic black gown accentuated by an absolutely stunning 31 carat square-emerald cut flawless diamond necklace set in a cluster of diamonds. This piece alone is cause for us to name her our best dressed at the Oscars!

We can’t forget to mention Lupita Nyong’o and her gorgeous, custom Narobi blue Prada gown. She was layered in head-to-toe Fred Leighton jewels including a custom 18 karat gold head band, a fabulous gold vintage snake coil bracelet,  and stunning diamond earrings. We’re so excited this rising star won best supporting actress for her role in 12 Years a Slave!

Speaking of bracelets, there were some fabulous choices in this arena as well. Anne Hathaway wore a pair of stunning emerald cut diamond tennis bracelets that paired well with her black and metallic column gown.  Julia Roberts wore a set of stacked diamond bracelets that complemented her black and lace gown.

We also saw some gorgeous earrings on the likes of Amy Adams in red-and-diamond Tiffany drop earrings and Angelina Jolie’s custom, 42-carat diamond earrings that dangled ever-so-slightly.
