Bailey’s Fine Jewelry’s A Time to Give Program Raises More Than $30,000 for the Community

RALEIGH, N.C. (March 30, 2010) - Bailey’s Fine Jewelry donated more than $30,000 back to the community in 2009 through the A Time to Give program. A Time to Give is an innovative effort, conceived by the Bailey family as a way to provide replacement watch batteries for their patrons and support the community at the same time.

A Time to Give provides any patron the opportunity to come into one of the three locations to receive a free replacement watch battery. In exchange, Bailey’s requests that a donation be made to that month’s chosen charity. Every month, each Bailey’s location selects a non-profit organization and 100 percent of the donations received from the battery replacements are donated to that charity.

A Time to Give is unique because the program encompasses both Bailey’s excellent customer service, as well as its dedication to the community. Bailey’s absorbs the entire cost of the replacement batteries, which can range anywhere from $10 to $25. A Time to Give gives patrons an easy means for donating to local charities.

To date, A Time to Give has returned more than $75,000 back to the communities that Bailey’s Fine Jewelry serves (Raleigh, Rocky Mount, and Greenville) since it began in 2008.

“The family considers it a blessing to give back to the community that gives so much to us,” said Doug Morgan, a family member and director of development at Bailey’s Fine Jewelry. “It's one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.”

In 2009, A Time to Give donated more than $30,000 to North Carolina charities including: Hearts Revived Ministry, Women for Women, Interact, Tar River Mission Clinic, Boys & Girls Club of Wake County, Walk MS -Greenville, Boys & Girls Club of Nash/Edgecombe Counties, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Tri County Industries, Inc., Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, Prevent Child Abuse America (Kappa Delta of ECU), Communities in Schools, American Red Cross, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, StepUP Ministries, Edgecombe-Nash Humane Society, Special Olympics North Carolina, Pitt County Schools, Nash Community College, Wake Health Services, Leo W.
